President's Message
On behalf of the members of the Washington Artillery Veterans' Association, welcome to our virtual hall and web site. Please feel free to browse the information here and visit our partners on our links page. Also, please consider supporting our major project, Operation Kids for Kids. In the few months this project has been active it has had a profound effect on the lives of the children in Baghdad, Iraq.
We also offer our sincere condolences and support to the family of SGT Lee M. Godbolt of the Battalion Washington Artillery. SGT Godbolt was killed by a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device, also known as a car bomb while on patrol in Baghdad. He is the first member of the Washington Artillery to be killed in action since World War II. May Santa Barbara, the patron saint of artillerymen, guide him to His bosom and watch over the rest of the battalion in Iraq.
In May we had our Ladies' Night Crawfish Social at the WAVA Hall in Chalmette. A good time was had by all. In September we are having our Barbeque Ladies' Night Social. Additionally, WAVA will be celebrating our 40th anniversary in November with our second annual Washington Artillery Reunion.
