Operations In Iraq

In October 2004 the Battalion Washington Artillery was activated for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Currently they are serving proudly in Baghdad, Iraq as part of the 256th Brigade Combat Team. They are continuing the proud lineage of the unit stretching back to 1838 and earlier.

Unfortunately, the battalion has taken casualties. We offer our condolences and support to the family and friends of the men of the active battalion who have been injured or killed in action in Iraq. WAVA will try to attend every funeral.
